Playstation game sort of like rock band with colorful lights and dancy music, mash the buttons at the correct time? 

Additional Details

I don't know, I saw someone playing it a long time ago, you had to press the right button at the right time and switch between instruments, it was very trippy and cool, what was it?

Nope, that's not it. It's a similar concept, but in the game I'm talking about you control some kind of space ship and the speeds are ridiculous..

PS1 sprite based fighting game, the characters themselves were small and it was 2v2 based, as in you only controlled one character but could tag in the other, but could be played 1v1.
