Looking for an a PC RTS game that I played many years back but can't remember

I'm looking for an RTS (realtime strategy) game that I played awhile back but I can't remember the name of it. For those unaware RTS games are like Age of Empires, C&C and those kinds of titles.
I have a bit of a cloudy memory on this game, so all the details listed here may not be right. But, hopefully someone will pick up on a clue from it and determine what it is for me. This game I was playing involved where you started out with a patch of land to build on and start making buildings needed for expansion, and it started that you were one race of people like russians, chinese, americans, germans, etc. You started off in like the 17th century building rudimentary weapons and things, but time processed and as you grew and grew you had military industrial complexes in the later stages and could call in air attacks and drop nuclear bomb.

But, that one is a little hard to navigate and there aren't any screen shots. There are obviously lots of other game sites out there that have archives of old RTS games, so hunt around and see what you can come up with.
The easiest way for me to be able to tell if its the game I'm looking for would be to look some screenshots or captured video from the gameplay to tell.
